SAN ANTONIO
So after graduating high school, I’ve just been traveling nonstop. My first travel spot was good old San Antonio, Texas. My mother, grandmother, and I stayed in San Antonio for three days but those three days are some that I will remember. My mom had some work to do there, so my grandmother & I were able to see the city. I really enjoyed San Antonio’s old western yet colorful layout. The one thing I did not enjoy too much was the heat. Way too hot for a northern girl like me. But nonetheless, still loved it.

One of San Antonio’s main attractions is The Alamo. One thing that my grandmother and I kept on hearing throughout the streets were “Remember The Alamo!”. The Alamo and originally known as the Misión San Antonio de Valero, is a historic Spanish mission and fortress compound founded in the 18th century by Roman Catholic missionaries. People are not able to film or take pictures inside The Alamo but the outside is beautiful. With a wide spread of green plants and different traits.

After going to The Alamo, my grandmother & I took a local tour bus. One of my biggest tips for traveling is the best way to get a sense of where you are are taking on & off tour buses. It was nice to just sit back & relax while listening to the history & famous spots of San Antonio. My favorite part was when we saw one of the three most haunted hotels in San Antonio. We were told that people have heard & seen strange things are the hotel. So happy that we didn’t stay there. After the tour, we really didn’t do too much. There was a H&M near where the tour started so we went in there to look around. Then, we went out for lunch and back to the hotel.

The second day was a little more chilled out. We found out that some close family friends were in the same area that we were, so we met up with them for dinner. We ate at this mexican restaurant down by the riverwalk. To be hosent, the food was not my favorite but it wasn’t all that bad. The restaurant was beautiful with a nice view though. After we ate, it got pretty dark outside, so we thought it would be a nice time to take a boat ride on the well-known Riverwalk in San Antonio. Since it was night time, all the boats had LED lighting on it’s sides so that people can see better. It was beautiful & the water gave us a nice, cool breeze. This was also a nice way to find out some more history about the city.

One thing about my grandmother is that she loves thrift shopping. So guess how excited she was when we saw a GoodWell on the tour bus. The third day, we went to the GoodWell to check out what they had. I was able to find two nice tee-shirts but my grandmother didn’t find anything she wanted to spend money on. “They are getting too expensive!” she said as she is the thrifting queen herself. There was an open market next to the GoodWell so we walked through there to see what they had. There were a lot of cowboy hats & boots. I wanted to buy on but even the tiny ones were out of my price range. After walking around for some time, the heat got my grandmother & I good. We just went back to the hotel & took a nap. For dinner, we went to the Towers Of America. Basically, it was this really tall tower that has a restaurant where you could see a view of the whole city. The wall is programed to very slowly rotate so that people can see the whole area. It was cool & all but the food wasn’t all that great in my opinion. But it was nice seeing the whole city in one sitting.

So yes, I made a video (PLEASE WATCH IT) about my trip to San Antonio but I wasn’t talking in it so I wanted to make a write about what I thought about it. I loved everything about it. Everything but the heat. All that heat can go somewhere else. But other than that, it’s a trip that I will remember forever & will love.
